THE GOSPEL

1. The Holy God

​

"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!" (Isaiah 6:3b)

 

"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created." (Revelation 4:11)

 

"Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, and You cannot look on wickedness with favor." (Habakkuk 1:13)

 

"For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; the upright will behold His face." (Psalm 11:7)

 

"The LORD of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness." (Isaiah 5:16)

2. Guilty Man

 

"Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness." (1 John 3:4) 

 

"As it is written: 'There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.'" (Romans 3:10–11)

 

"Through one man [Adam] sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned" (Romans 5:12)

 

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

 

"Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear." (Isaiah 59:2)

 

"God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day. If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready." (Psalm 7:11–12)

3. Jesus Christ

 

"When the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons." (Galatians 4:4–5)

 

"The Word became flesh and dwelt among us; we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

 

"For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:19)

 

"He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:5–6)

 

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree')." (Galatians 3:13)

"Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed." (Romans 3:25)

"Who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification." (Romans 4:25)

4. Free Offer and Response

​

"Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations" (Luke 24:47)

"‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways!" (Ezekiel 33:11)

"Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters… Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:1, 6–7)

 

"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." (Mark 1:15)

 

"The Lord is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9)​

"I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." (Hebrews 8:12)
 

"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved." (Ephesians 2:2-5)

5. Assurance and Gratitude

​

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8–9)

 

"Being found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith." (Philippians 3:9)

 

"I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." (Hebrews 8:10)

 

"Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day." (Psalm 119:97)

 

 "Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." (Acts 2:41–42)

 

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
